Pontault-Combault Handball

Founded in 1967, Pontault-Combault are based in the Seine-et-Marne department and made their first appearance in the ProLigue in 1994. After establishing themselves in the top tier for several years, finishing as high as fourth in 1999, they then yo-yoed between the upper and second divisions until 2008/09, the start of a long spell in the wilderness.

Boasting the best attack in the second tier last season, Chérif Harmani’s men finished fourth and triumphantly returned to the Lidl Starligue after a ten-year absence. Ending a tough 2018-19 season finished at the 14th position, Pontault Combault will be playing in ProLigue next season.

The Yellow and Blue have three honours to their name: two second division titles and a third division championship.

In 2018, Pontault-Combault had to negotiate the second division play-offs on their way back up to the Lidl Starligue. Having finished fourth at the end of the regular season, the team from Paris Region had took on Dijon in the semi-finals, followed by Sélestat Alsace in the final, both over two draws.
