FC Barcelona Handbol

Founded in 1942, the FC Barcelona Handball section is today the most successful club in the Spanish Championship, as well as the most successful in the Champions League with 9 wins. The Blaugrana experienced their golden age in the 1990s, when they have won six Champions League titles in 1991 and 2000, five of them consecutively between 1996 and 2000.
Its main rivals are Atletico Madrid, BM Granollers and Real Ademar Leon.
The club is chaired by Josep Maria Bartomeu, whose first handball team is coached by Xavier Pascual since 2009.
Its most capped player, David Barrufet, has participated into 26 seasons with the Blaugrana, and an impressive record of 7 Champions Leagues, 11 Spanish Championships and 7 medals in European and world competitions with La Roja. His number 16 jersey is hung on the ceiling of Palau Blaugrana.

Paris SG - FC Barcelona

Throughout its history, the Blaugrana have crossed paths with Paris Saint-Germain on four occasions, winning three and losing one. Gathered in Group A during the 2016-17 Champions League, the two teams had managed to win in their respective arenas.

The draw on June 27th, 2019, brought them back together in Group A, with Celje, Aalborg, Pick Szeged, PPD Zagreb, Elverum and Flensburg.

On Saturday, October,19, Barcelona players was welcoming the Parisians. They defeated 32-36 as part of matchday 5 of Champions League. The two teams competed again on Saturday, December 1st. Barcelona's players won once again 32-35 despite of an excellent game of Sander Sagosen, who was nomitaed game's top scorer.

FC Barcelona has a long history of success, both in Spain and in European competitions. However, two seasons certainly appear to be unique in the hearts of Blaugrana fans. Indeed, during the 1999-00 and 2014-15 seasons, the club managed to win in all the competitions in which it was involved, namely the Spanish Championship, the Copa del Rey, the Super Cup, the ASOBAL Cup, and finally the Champions League. When they won the EHF Champions League in 2015, the Barcelona players had only lost once during the entire competition, for 14 wins.

Ludovic Fabregas
Line player

Born on July 1st, 1996, in Perpignan, Ludovic Fabregas is a French line player who has been playing for FC Barcelona Handbol since the summer of 2018. After being destined to a successful career in trial mountain biking, as evidenced by his titles as World Champion and European Champion in the youth categories, he joined the Montpellier Handball professional group in 2013, under the direction of Patrice Canayer. Considered as one of the best line players of his generation, he has an impressive record, both in club and with les Bleus: Winner of the Champions League in 2018, the French Cup and the League Cup in 2016 with Montpellier Handball. For his first season with FC Barcelona, he has won the Spanish Championship, la Copa del Rey, the ASOBAL Cup and the Spanish Super Cup. With the French team, he has won 2 medals at the World Championships, as well as the silver medal at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016.

Palau Blaugrana

Inaugurated on October 2nd, 1971, Palau Blaugrana is the official venue of FC Barcelona Handball, as well as basketball, futsal and rink hockey sections. The venue for many events at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, Palau Blaugrana has a total capacity of 8,250 seats. Its ceiling features many jerseys retired, in the manner of the National Basketball Association, in tribute to the famous players who have worn the Blaugrana colours.

Located in the Les Corts district, Palau Blaugrana is an integral part of an area where sport is king, with the Camp Nou, the Reial Club Polo de Barcelona, the Complex Esportiu Municipal Hospitalet and the FCBEscola. The Blaugrana compound is accessible by public transport from Coliblanc stop, via metro lines 5, 9S and 10S. By bus, lines 113 and M12 serve Palau Blaugrana at the stop of the same name.
