DFCO in short

Founded in 1998 following the merger of Dijon Football Club and Cercle Football Dijonnais, Dijon Football Côte-d'Or has been chaired by Olivier Delcourt since 2012.

In 2002, after his time at Saint-Etienne, Rudy Garcia took over the reins of the team, which went from amateur to professional status within just two years. In the 2015-16 season, the DFCO had its best season in Ligue 2 BKT since the club's creation. The Dijon team finished second in the league with only 6 defeats, which meant a move up to Ligue 1 Uber Eats. At the end of the 2019-20 sason, the club finished 16th in the ranking, ahead of Saint-Etienne and Nîmes.

After a difficult start of the 2020-21 season, the club decided to fire his head coach Stephane Jobard, who has been in charge since June 2019. His assistant David Linarès took the lead as new coach for Mama Baldé's teammates.

The Parisians against Dijon

In the quarter-finals of the 2018-19 French Cup, the Red and Blue won 3-0, thanks to goals from Di Maria and Meunier.

Following the draw on January 30th, 2020, the two teams met in the quarter-finals of the French Cup on February 12th, 2020, at Gaston Gérard. The Red and Blue won by a score of 6 goals to 1, with goals from Mbappé, Silva and Sarabia.

On January 17th, 2018, Neymar Jr. scored his first four-goal in Ligue 1 Uber Eats against Dijon FCO. With a sublime curling free-kick, a left-footed cross-shot, a slaloming run that only he knew how to do, and a penalty, the Brazilian illuminated the night with his talent. He also delivered two assists and was awarded a prestigious 10 in the newspaper l'Equipe. Captain of the Brazilian national team since 2014, he won the Confederations Cup in 2013, as well as the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016. He finished 3rd in the Ballon d'Or in 2015 and 2017.

A native of Gabon, Didier Ndong discovered the Ligue 1 Uber Eats with FC Lorient during the 2015-16 season. Transferred to Sunderland the following summer, he then played in the Premier League with the Black Cats, scoring his first goal against Crystal Palace on February 4th, 2017. Back in France in 2018 under the colors of En Avant Guingamp, he joined Dijon FCO the following season, establishing himself as one of the team leaders. International with Gabon, he notably won the Youth African Cup of Nations in 2011.

Gaston-Gérard Stadium

The Parc des Sports was inaugurated in 1934, it is now named after the former deputy mayor of Dijon Gaston-Gérard. Situated in the Montmuzard district, the stadium is mainly used for Dijon FCO matches. Its capacity is 15,459 seats, the attendance record was beaten on October 15th, 2017, with the reception of Paris Saint-Germain, 15,160 spectators were present. Both the city of Dijon and the Gaston-Gérard Stadium were able to host many events, including the athletics meeting where the famous pole vaulter Sergueï Bubka achieved his personal best. Bob Marley also gave a previously unpublished concert on June 4th, 1980.

Practical information
Located in the Montmuzard district, the Gaston Gérard stadium is served by the city's public transport network, in particular the T1 tram at the Parc des Sports stop, as well as by a shuttle system dedicated to the Dijon FCO. StadiGO, 5 shuttle lines criss-cross the Burgundy Franche-Comté region to allow fans to get to the stadium. Four free park and ride facilities are also located near the stadium.
