After winning the second edition of the competition in 2021, French team finished at the 3rd place in the group stage of the 2022/23 edition, which meant staying in League A. Les Bleus will be keen to return to the top of European football, facing first Italy and then Belgium, before finishing with Israel in the first leg of their Group A2 tie.

Antoine Griezmann (4 goals), Olivier Giroud (5 goals) and Kylian Mbappé (7 goals) are the three French players who have scored the most goals since the UEFA Nations League was created.

More about Italy team

Italy, a great football nation, has won two European Championship titles (one in 1968 on home soil and one in 2020). The title holders managed to qualify for the knockout phase of Euro 2024 by finishing second in Group B behind Spain. The Squadra Azurra was then eliminated 2-0 in the Round of 16 by a very strong Swiss team.

In their two appearances at the UEFA Nations League finals, Italy have finished third twice in a row, beating Belgium 2-1 in 2021 and the Netherlands 3-2 in 2023. Today, the 2020 European champions are keen to repeat their success against their transalpine neighbours.
