Chartres Métropole Handball
Founded in 1969 as CS Mainvilliers Handball, the club reached the Proligue for the first time in its history in 2011. After having obtained its current name of Chartres Métropole Handball, the club entered the first division at the end of the 2015 season and its victory in the accession play-offs.
Chaired by Philippe Besson since 1992, Chartres Métropole Handball was back in Liqui Moly Starligue consecutive to a great 2018/19 season under the guidance of its coach Jérôme Delarue, in position since July 2018. At the end of this season, he was awarded the title of Coach of the Season. In June 2019, the club appointed Toni Gerona as new coach. He worked as Tunisia coach as well. As records, the Blues of Chartres has a Proligue title won in 2019, as well as an honorary title of play-off winner in 2015 against Mulhouse HSA.

During 2015/16 season, Chartres Métropole Handball's last appearance in the elite of the French championship, the Blues of Chartres had lost twice against Paris Saint-Germain with an average gap of 10 goals. The Red and Blue had won 36-30 in Chartres on matchday 3 of 2019-20 Liqui Moly StarLigue.
Despite the ambition of Chartres to stay in the Liqui Moly Starligue for a second consecutive season, Chartres' players could not face the very good performance of the Paris Saint-Germain Handball players on February 20, 2021. The Red and Blue won in Chartres on the score 39-23 thanks to 11 goals from Elohim Prandi.
On November 13, 2021, the Parisians went victorious 39-25 against Chartres at Coubertin, with 7 goals from Mikkel Hansen. During the return match at the Jean Cochet hall, the Parisians made the difference in the last fifteen minutes thanks to a very solid Vincent Gérard (9 saves) and a great Kamil Syprzak (12 goals) who allowed PSG to win 40 to 36.

On February 9, 2024, PSG once again faced Chartres Métropole Handball on the 16th day of the championship. Born in Hungary, Dominik Mathé started his career with the Hungarian club Balatonfüredi KSE before moving to Norway and Elverum. The left-handed player born in 1999 has quickly impressed with high level performances in the EHF Champions League: in his first season with the most successful club in the Norwegian league, he was the top scorer in the most prestigious European competition. The imposing 2.01 meter right back continues his promising career by joining PSG in the summer of 2022 with the ambition to make history with the Parisian club.
Born on January 31, 1985, in Zaporijia, Ukraine, Sergiy Onufriyenko is a handball player who has been playing right-back for Chartres MHB 28 since the summer of 2018. He joined Paris Saint-Germain Handball in 2015 for one season, before signing for the Pays d'Aix from 2016 to 2018. Over the years, he has built up an impressive list of achievements, including 8 Ukrainian championship titles, 4 Belarusian championship titles, as well as a French championship title and a Champions Trophy with the Red and Blue teams. Fundamental player of the Chartres Métropole Handball squad, top scorer and setter of his team, he was elected in the Proligue's standard team for the 2018/19 season.

Inaugurated in 1991, the Halle Jean Cochet is a place where sport reigns supreme in Chartres, hosting the meetings of the Chartres Métropole Handball and the Union Basket Chartres Métropole. After numerous renovation works and in order to meet the requirements of the NHL, its total capacity is now 1,200 seats.
Located in the northern centre of Chartres, the Halle Jean Cochet is accessible by car from Paris via exit 12 of the A10 motorway. Numerous car parks are available near the site. From the city centre, the Halle Jean Cochet can be reached in just 20 minutes on foot.
