Paris vs Cesson-Rennes

Founded in 1968 under the name Olympique Club Cessonnais, the club acquired its current identity in 2011 following a major investment by the city of Rennes to develop handball. Between 2009 and 2019, the club played at the highest national level, the Lidl Starligue, despite one of the lowest budgets in the first division. Since November 2091, the team has been coached by the former head of the training centre Sebastien Leriche.

Since its accession to professional status, the club has won 1 National 1 title and 2 Pro D2 titles. Their best result in the Lidl Starligue remains a 7th place in 2013 and 2014.

After a complicated 2018 - 2019 season, the Bretons were unable to maintain their place among the elite of the French championship, finishing in 13th place in the ranking behind Ivry. Without victory for 17 days, they were 1 point away from maintaining their position. At the end of a shortened 2019 - 2020 Proligue season, the Bretons were officially promoted to the Lidl Starligue, finishing with the best defence in the championship.

The club entered the Lidl Starligue for the first time in its history at the end of the 2008-09 season, a season punctuated by a ProLigue title.

In the 2018 - 2019 season, the Parisians won 29-19 at Rennes on Matchday 11 of the Lidl Starligue, thanks in particular to the fine performance of goalkeeper Rodrigo Corrales. The Red and Blue won again 29-20 at Coubertin on Matchday 26, Thierry Omeyer's last victory of his career. The goalkeeper made a superb performance with 15 saves.

On October 3rd, 2020, the Parisians won 39 - 21 at Coubertin against Cesson-Rennes in the Lidl Starligue. Mikkel Hansen became the record holder for the number of matches with Paris Saint-Germain Handball that evening.

The club was eliminated at the semi-final stage of the 2015-16 French Cup by the Red and Blue
