Montpellier Hérault Sport Club in brief

Founded in 1990 following the merger of Racing Club Paillade and Entente Cressoise, the women's section of Montpellier Hérault Sporting Club has been operating in Division 1 Arkema since 1997. Following its return to the elite, the Montpellier Hérault Sporting Club enjoyed its best years in sporting terms, winning the French Championship title in 2004 and 2005.

Nicknamed the Pailladines, the Montpellier players play in the traditional colors of the club: Blue and Orange. The women's section is chaired by Laurent Nicollin, and coached by Jean-Louis Saez, a former player from Montpellier in the 1980s. At the end of the 2019-20 season, Montpellier finished in 4th position in the ranking, ahead of Paris FC.

In their last French Cup victory in 2009, Montpellier's players won the final against Le Mans UC.

The Parisian women against Montpellier

In 2010, the Parisian women won their first French Cup after beating Montpellier in the final by a score of 1-0.

On Octobrer 10th, 2020, the Parisians have been hosting Montpellier on Division 1 Arkema matchday 5, at Jean Bouin Stadium. The Red and Blue defeated them 4 - 0, with goals from Paredes (8'), Katoto (15', 41') and Baltimore (89').

On September 3rd, 2021, the two teams played the first leg of the championship, as part of matchday 2 of the D1 Arkema 21-22, the Parisians won 1-0 at the Bernard Gasset stadium, thanks to the penalty scored by Sara Däbritz in the 8th minute.

Opposed again in the French women's cup 21-22 on March 5, 2022 in Montpellier, the Red and Blue won 3 - 1 thanks to goals from Hamraoui, Geyoro and Katoto.

On November 26, 2023, Parisiennes and Montpelliéraines met for a top-of-the-table Arkema D1 match at the Georges Lefèvre stadium. Despite a tightly contested first half, the Parisians were able to pick up the tempo and win 4-1, thanks in particular to Tabitha Chawinga's late strike, which made her the league's second-highest scorer with 6 goals.

PSG traveled to MHSC on March 24, 2024, for the 18th day of the championship. The Parisians dominated Montpellier from the outset, scoring with Le Guilly (0-1, 10th) and Albert (0-2, 43rd). Chawinga added a third (0-3, 49th) before Montpellier closed the gap (1-3, 89th). This victory confirms PSG's second place, eight points ahead of Paris FC and seven behind Lyon.

In the 2015-16 season, the club lost in the final of the French Cup after beating Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals.

Since 2001, the women's section of the Montpellier Hérault Sport Club has been playing at the Mama Ouattara stadium on the Grammont domain, Montpellier Hérault's training centre. During major Division 1 Arkema and Champions League matches, Montpellier's women can play at the Stade de la Mosson.

Located on the eastern outskirts of Montpellier, the Grammont estate is accessible by car thanks to the numerous parking areas nearby.

In the 2022/23 season, the club won against Guingamp (4 - 1), Dijon (3 - 0) and Reims (3 - 1).
