FC Bayern Munich is a German women's soccer team based in Munich that currently plays in the Frauen-Bundesliga, the top women's division in Germany.
The women's section of Bayern Munich was officially founded in 1970, winning its first national championship in 1976. In 1990, Bayern was a founding member of the Frauen-Bundesliga, but was relegated the following season.
After a return to the Bundesliga in 2000 and an honorary Bundesliga runner-up title in 2009, FC Bayern Munich won their first German Cup title in 2012, defeating FFC Frankfurt 2-0 in the final in Cologne. This was followed by 3 league titles in 2015, 2016 and most recently in 2021. On the European scene, the club reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019 and 2021, defeated by Barcelona and Chelsea respectively.
In the 2021/22 season, the club finished second in their Champions League group, behind Olympique Lyonnais but ahead of Benfica Lisbon and BK Hacken.

The Parisians against Bayern München

Born on February 6, 1991, in Graz, Austria, Carina Wenninger is a key player for Bayern Munchen, that she joined in 2007. Since making her Bundesliga debut in 2008 at the age of 17, the central defender has won everything with her club on the domestic front: league, German Cup and Bundesliga Cup. In the 2021/22 season, she reached the 300-match mark with Bayern. For the first participation of Austria in the Euro in 2017, Wenninger's teammates reached the semi-finals, after finishing 1st in its group ahead of France. On March 22, 2022 against Paris Saint-Germain, she was a starter in the axis of the defense alongside the Icelandic Viggosdottir.

It was also the home field of 1860 Munich until 1995 as well as the first team of Bayern Munchen who played in this stadium from 1926 to 1972.
For this Champions League quarter-final first leg, the match was played at the Allianz Arena, the mythical stadium of the men's team. With a capacity of more than 75,000 seats, it is one of the largest stadiums in which the Parisians have had the opportunity to play.
