ASJ Soyaux-Charente in brief

Founded in 1968, the Association Sportive Jeunesse Soyaux-Charente is one of the pioneers of the French women's football championship. The Blue and White team joined the championship's elite in 1975, two seasons after the creation of the Division 1 Arkema. In the course of its history, ASJ Soyaux-Charente won a championship title in 1984, as well as five French vice-champion titles. The team has also reached the French Cup semi-finals four times, each time beaten by Olympique Lyonnais.

In addition to its long history in D1 Arkema, ASJ is recognized as one of the oldest academies in France, having seen players such as Corinne Diacre and Candie Herbert develop.

On the 2019/20 season, ASJ Soyaux ensured its position within D1 thanks to its 3 - 1 victory against Olympique de Marseille, on Decembre 7th, 2019.

At the end of the 2019-20 season of D1 Arkema, the Soyaux players finished in 10th place, 1 point behind Dijon.

The Parisian women against ASJ Soyaux-Charente

During the 2019-20 Division 1 Arkema season, the Parisian women were playing host to ASJ Soyaux at the opening of the French championship. The Red and Blue had won 7-0, including two goals from Katoto and Nadim. In the return match on February 9th, 2020, the Parisian women won again by 3 goals to 0, with goals from Nadim, Katoto and Geyoro.

On October 18th, 2020, the Parisians have defeated Soyaux 3 - 0 at Léo Lagrange, as part of championship matchday 6. Scorers were Bruun, Geyoro and Huitema.

In the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, the Soyaux players failed to score against Paris Saint-Germain.

Christiane Endler

Goalkeeper 23/07/1991
Born on July 23th, 1991, in Santiago, Chile, Christiane Endler is a Chilean international playing as a goalkeeper. She won the Copa Libertadores in 2012 and will arrive in Europe in 2014 at Chelsea. After an experience in 2016/2017 at Valencia, she signed for Paris Saint-Germain in July 2017. She was elected best goalkeeper for the 2018-19 season of D1 Arkema. On D1 Arkema matchday 15, she defended PSG's goals and obtained the 14th clean sheet of the season in all competitions.

Laura Bourgoin

Striker 27/09/1992
Born on September 27th, 1992, in Le Mans, Laura Bourgouin began her formation at US Le Mans in 1999, before turning professional on the MUC 72 in 2006. Having played high up the field as a striker or attacking midfielder, she joined ASJ Soyaux-Charente in the summer of 2013, freshly promoted to Division 1. Selected for the French B team in April 2014, Laura Bourgouin played alongside players such as Marion Torrent, Kelly Gadea and Amel Majri.

Stade Léo Lagrange

Located in the heart of the Soyaux-Charente Youth Sports Association sports complex, the Stade Léo Lagrange hosts Division 1 Arkema and ASJ French Cup matches. The stadium has a covered side stand.

Practical information
Located on the eastern outskirts of Angoulême, the Stade Léo Lagrange is easily accessible by car from the D939, as well as by public transport via bus lines 5 and 66 at the Neruda stop.
